Review
The Ministry of Fisheries
is currently undertaking a review of some aspects of the Amateur
Fishing Regulations. MFish have released an Initial Position Paper (IPP) which covers the following:
- Amendment to the scallop fishing season
- Red gurnard, blue cod and trumpeter recreational size limits
- Definition of 'take' when considering bag limits
- Regulation 19A of the regulations
The (IPP) that includes the proposals for these regulations was released
on 11th July 2006.
