Chesters Special 2007

You Aint Seen Nothing Yet

by the option4 team
March 2007

Or so the song goes. After witnessing the Chesters Plumbing Supplies Fishing Contest for a number of years it is obvious how much effort has gone into educating participants on how to look after caught fish.

On a hot afternoon in mid February there was a steady stream of people weighing in their catches from as far away as Great Barrier and even the Ranfurly Banks.

Chillybins of varying sizes were full of ikied and iced fish with the ultimate being a bin containing none other than a live snapper!

The fish was in prime condition as a battery-powered pump had aerated the water it was swimming in. Needless to say the fish was in amongst the prizes for the ‘best kept fish' award.

Chesters have been running the contest for seventeen years and have again proved how valuable they are in their support for recreational fishers. At the end of the contest both option4 and the Manukau Coastguard received substantial donations from Grant Chester the owner of Chesters Plumbing Supplies. Please remember to give them your support when next buying plumbing goods.
