Update for those who sent
their submission to the Tiri Action Group (TAG) on the NZ Underwater
Association proposal for a marine reserve in the Whangaparaoa/ Tiritiri
Matangi area.
Dear team
It is now 14 months since
the Tiritiri Action Group (TAG) gave your submission to NZ Underwater
regarding their proposal for a marine reserve in the Tiritiri/ Whangaparaoa
area. NZUA representative Peter Crabb advises it will be at least
another six months before the analysis of all submissions is completed.
The final analysis will be
supplied electronically to those who have supplied an email address
as NZUA do not have sufficient funds to supply hard copies to all
submitters despite receiving funding from DoC. NZUA do not expect
to make any decisions regarding the proposal until the analysis
is completed.
The TAG team continues to
monitor the situation and will keep you informed of any new developments.

Peter Crabb advises the
NZUA are still entering the submissions. He is now working on this
project fulltime. When asked if he is working fulltime on an application
he responded by saying he hopes to have a progress report within
six months.
