Foreshore Hikoi Oct 2004

Foreshore Hikoi

Auckland

16 October 2004

The Foreshore hikoi travelling from the north and has arrived in Auckland. It will be assembling in Mayoral Drive and continuing on to Orakei Marae around 1pm on Saturday 16th October.

This is a valuable opportunity to meet with Maori and discuss common issues. Something neither the Ministry of Fisheries or the Department of Conservation have made any attempt to facilitate.

If you value your commom law right to fish, access and navigate our waters then the hikoi is a good way to demonstrate your opposition to the Foreshore and Seabed Bill currently being considered by the government. The bill proposes to extinguish your common law right to fish, access and navigate our waters.

Please consider showing your support to oppose the Bill.
