Marine Protection

Great Barrier Island

DoC advise a letter was due to go out to all who made a submission on their proposal for GBI by the end of last week (14/5/04). DoC expect to have a formal application for a marine reserve by July. The boundaries are only slightly different to the original proposal put out in 2003.

Absolutely no evidence of a coordinated, integrated approach to marine protection that the public have so clearly asked for.

Tiritiri Matangi/ Whangaparaoa
