Fiordland
The Guardians of Fiordland's Fisheries (GOFF) have proposed changes
to fisheries management in the Fiordland region without consulting
with the wider public. GOFF have been working on the plan since
1999 and released a discussion document Draft Integrated Management
Strategy for Fiordland's Fisheries and Marine Environment in October
2002.
The proposal has major implications for non - commercial fishers
in the Fiordland area. option4 has serious concerns about the
consultation process and the evidence used to support claims made
in the document.
The results of the consultation process have now been incorporated
in the Fiordland Marine Conservation Strategy as detailed below.
The following is the proposal and a record of the process. As
more information becomes available it will be added to this section.

The Guardians respond by advising the results of the consultation
