Proposal to set Total Allowable Catches (TACs), Total Allowable Commercial Catches (TACCs), and allowances and implement management measures for kingfish stocks

The purpose of this document is to consult on behalf of the Minister of Fisheries on the proposed Total Allowable Catches (TACs), Total Allowable Commercial Catches (TACCs), and allowances and other management measures for kingfish stocks that will be introduced into the QMS on 1 October 2003. The Ministry is formally consulting on behalf of the Minister of Fisheries in relation to the proposed measures, in accordance with the Minister's statutory obligations to consult under s.12 of the Act.

MFish requests that you provide any written comments no later than 13 June 2003 on the initial management proposals for these fish stocks. Following receipt of your submissions, and their evaluation, MFish will provide a final advice paper to the Minister. A copy of the final advice will be sent to you upon request.
