| The Minister of Conservation, Hon Chris Carter, approved an application for a marine reserve in Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island on 24th July 2002. Consent of the Minister of Transport has been obtained and the consent of the Minister of Fisheries has been requested. A copy of the proposal and any background information has been requested and will be posted online as soon as it becomes available.
