Appointment of meeting Chairperson
Scott takes over Minutes of meetings. The team is unanimous re Bill Ross taking the chair.

Response to Keith Ingram Tackle Box Politics column.
All agreed that this sort of inaccuracy, muddying of water cannot go unanswered. Bill Ross has drafted a letter in response.

Fisheries Management Plan
MoF have agreed to meet with option4 to discuss the FMP Proposals being publicly consulted at the moment. This meeting has only come about as a result of option4 hearing about the process by chance. The Ministry did not approach option4.

Stan Crothers promise to draft press release regards licensing.
Letter (email) sent 3/5/01. Confirmed received by Stan 10/5 with undertaking to reply in "a couple of days".

Information request - MoF - RWG, Independent Review briefing papers
Our last letter to the Minister has still not been responded to. Within the letter we have asked for a range of papers. Reply pending. If unsatisfactory we will need to invoke Official Information Act

Ministerial Advisory Group
Some confusion as to whether or not this in fact to be formed and, if so, what its function will be.

Report on MP Polling
Diane reports - letters out on 4/5/01. Replies to be in hand by 25/5/01. MP's details are now on database. Lobbying of MP's in their respective electorates. Initiated recruitment of regional coordinators to lobby MP's in their electorates. Interesting how tough it has been to assemble the emails for the MP's. Agreed that a form letter should be available on the site for anyone to send to their MP's - automated - Scott to confirm how complex, how much.
We will write to the 30 MP's without emails and ask for their emails.
The letter sent to the MP's to be posted on the site.

Media Coordination
Katrina Power (PR specialist) has offered her services. Unfortunately she was unable to make the meeting tonight. She looks forward to meeting us at our next meeting. Geoff Green has some good groundwork in place already. First priority next meeting.
Is there a need for a "vehicle" to be created to keep the public informed of fisheries management goings on? Yes, very much so was the concensus of the group however with limited resources can option4 realistically deliver in short term? More discussion and estimate of effort/cost required.

Conflict of Interest.
Decided that if a member of option4 has a perceived conflict of interest then that must be declared.
We will write to the Minister asked for more explanation re his comments regards conflict of interest in his last letter.

NZRFC.
We discussed the NZRFC.
