Kahawai Legal Challenge goes to Court

Dear Legal Challenge supporter,

At last the Kahawai Legal Challenge gets to go to Court. The case is set down for Monday November 6th to Thursday November 9th in the Auckland High Court.

The Challenge legal team is led by Alan Galbraith QC who will be presenting the case for the recreational fishing organisations who are taking this legal action to protect the public’s fishing rights.

You are warmly invited to attend the Court to witness this historic case. We will be assembling in the courtyard from 9am. This will be an opportunity to put faces to names and for many to meet each other for the first time, or simply reacquaint. We will proceed into the courtroom after a karakia (prayer) at 9.30am.

The morning session is from 10am to 1pm and afternoon sessions are from 2pm to 5pm. It is etiquette that all cellphones are switched off when in court.

The High Court is on Waterloo Quadrant, corner of Parliament Street, city centre.  See map online here. Nearest car park is in Shortland St.
